Maria Jose is Acclaim Energy Mexico´s Country Manager, a consulting company that supports large energy consumers design and implement electricity and natural gas procurement strategies. María José is a market leader in Mexico and has been recognized this year as one of the 100 most powerful women in business in Mexico by Expansión and one of the Top 10 women in the industry by Energía Hoy. In 2021, she was named Top Voice of LinkedIn.

In 2020, she was awarded the honorary medal for the energy industry by the International Council of Entrepreneurs (COINE) and was also listed in the top 100 of the energy industry by Petroleo&Energía magazine.

She is a member of the Mexican Council for International Affairs (COMEXI), member of the BBVA Advisory Council for the State of Nuevo León, Secretary of the founding board of Women’s Energy Network Mexico Chapter, a member of Voz Experta and of the Sustainability Committee at the Mexican Chamber of Construction (CMIC). Maria Jose also acts as an independent member of the Board of Directors of Cox Energy Americas, the first renewable energy company to be listed in the stock market in Latin America.
She has served as vice president of the Nuevo León State Council of Nacional Financiera (NAFIN) and participated in the Editorial Board of Energy of the newspaper El Norte of Grupo Reforma for some years.

She holds two degrees, in Business Administration and Mandarin Chinese from Trinity University, as well as an MBA from IPADE Business School.
